GROUP7 celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the new company headquarters with numerous guests and project participants. A 60,000 m2 service center and a 5,000 m2 office space are being built on a 102,000 m2 site. In addition, 20,400 m2 of green space is planned. The investment for the construction project amounts to approximately 48 million euros.

Insights into the construction project
GROUP7 Managing Director Günther Jocher welcomed the attendees and acknowledged the achievements of everyone involved: “I would like to thank the people who have been instrumental in ensuring that we can place the topping-out crown today."
He also gave an insight into the dimensions of the construction project: the hall roof is supported by 380 wooden binders, 2,022 prefabricated concrete parts were used, and the floor plate weighs an impressive 24,150 tons.
The service center will be completed at the end of this year, while the office building will be ready for use in the second quarter of 2025.

An investment in the future
The new building is an extension for the rapidly growing company and triples the capacity at the Schwaig location. Technological highlights such as driverless transport systems and the newest scanning technologies will be used. These investments and the wide range of services, which also includes installation and production, will ensure that GROUP7 can continue to offer outstanding customer service in the future.
The office building will offer modern lounges, a rooftop terrace, numerous parking spaces and a park, which will encourage personal interaction. Jocher emphasized: “As a family business, we attach great importance to the well-being of our employees. Our new building is designed to actively promote a sense of community and a working atmosphere.”
In total, over 200 new jobs will be created in Schwaig.

Central location
The new building is located in the immediate area of the existing site, within close reach of the airport, the A92 highway, the transshipment station in Riem and Munich city center. The Schwaigerloh S-Bahn station is also being built in the immediate vicinity.

Focus on sustainability
GROUP7 focuses on sustainability and resource protection during construction. The building is being constructed according to ecological criteria and will be certified with the gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), like the other service centers in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Neuss.
Highlights of the construction project are 125 charging points for e-cars and e-trucks, a 1,200 m2 green roof and a large-scale photovoltaics system that produces three million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This amount is equivalent to the annual requirements of 1,000 households or the energy of 50,000 refrigerators.
